Dr Mazvita Machinga

Clinical Director & Founder

At the heart of Psychotherapy, Care and Counselling Services (PCCS) stands Rev. Dr. Mazvita Margaret Machinga, a visionary leader whose dedication has made PCCS a beacon of hope in Mutare and across Manicaland. With more than two decades of experience in psychology and pastoral care, Rev. Dr. Machinga has built her career on the conviction that every person deserves dignity, healing, and the chance to thrive.

She is widely recognized for establishing Manicaland’s first centre for substance abuse and trauma recovery, where she serves as Clinical Director and Chaplain. Her work integrates clinical expertise with spiritual care, ensuring that recovery is not only about overcoming addiction or trauma but also about rediscovering purpose and faith. Rev. Dr. Machinga’s impact extends beyond PCCS. She has volunteered at hospitals, police departments, and community
organizations, offering psychosocial support to survivors of violence, abuse, and loss. Her advocacy combats stigma around mental health, opening doors for vulnerable individuals to seek help without fear or shame.

Warmth and credibility define her leadership style. Families who entrust their loved ones to PCCS find reassurance in her compassionate presence, while sponsors recognize her commitment to transparency and responsible stewardship. Her passion is evident in every testimony of transformation—like that of Jubilance Makiwa, a young man who overcame substance addiction through PCCS’s 90-day rehabilitation program.

Rev. Dr. Machinga embodies the PCCS mission: to restore hope, rebuild lives, and nurture communities. Her blend of professional excellence, spiritual depth, and tireless advocacy makes her not only a credible leader but also a trusted companion on the journey to healing.
