Mental health at the Mutasa Joint Awareness Raising held at Samaringa High School and Primary School

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, PCCS participated in the Mutasa Joint Awareness Raising held at Samaringa High School and Samaringa Primary School, in partnership with Plan International and the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

The outreach created a valuable platform to engage learners and educators on the importance of mental health and overall wellbeing. We interacted with learners from Grade 4–7 and Form 1–6, creating a safe and open space to discuss emotions, mental health challenges, and the importance of seeking help. We also engaged with teachers, encouraging them to continue providing guidance and support to learners, and to foster environments where students feel safe, heard, and valued. Educators were reminded to consistently reassure learners that they are not alone.

As part of the outreach, PCCS shared information about its services, ensuring that both learners and teachers are aware of available mental health support and how to access it when needed.
